History of Ridge Meadows RCMP

Here is a brief history of the evolution of policing in Ridge Meadows.

Here is the opening of the new B.C. police station in Haney. L to R: Constable R Somerville (Haney), Harold Sutton (Reeve of PM), Solomon Mussallem (Reeve of MR), Cont. WB 'Kelly' Irving, Const. R Kenny, and Const. J Faust - all Haney detachment.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police took over policing in British Columbia in 1950 just after the opening of this new police station.

This is the first police car to arrive in Haney
