Auxiliary Program
Coquitlam RCMP is excited to welcome applications to the Auxiliary Program.
Auxiliaries are uniformed but unarmed and serve as sworn peace officers supporting the staff and regular members of the Coquitlam RCMP. The Auxiliary Program is one of the most intensive volunteer programs we run.
Auxiliary volunteers are highly trained and dedicated volunteers who contribute to making their communities safer. The specialized volunteers help foster connections between police and the communities we serve. Creating stronger, well connected communities by bridging the gap and helping to nurture the mutual respect between law enforcement and the public.
The BC RCMP Auxiliary Program strengthens community and police partnerships by providing trained volunteers with the opportunity to perform a variety of authorized activities that enhance community policing and crime prevention initiatives. Activities include:
- community/special events
- home and business safety checks, safety talks and activities
- traffic and crowd control,
- disaster planning and emergency preparedness assistance
- searches for lost persons
