Community Policing and Volunteer Programs

Coquitlam RCMP's community and crime prevention programs are based on the belief that police can only be effective when engaged, informed citizens get involved in the safety of their homes, businesses and neighbourhoods.  Volunteering with the Coquitlam RCMP is a great way to:

So whether you are a young adult considering a career in law enforcement; a retiree looking for a way to use your skills and experience to give back to your community; a recent immigrant wanting to meet new people and get to know your new home; or just someone who wants to help the police create safer, healthier neighbourhoods the Coquitlam RCMP has volunteer opportunities that will help you reach your goals while supporting the police working to reduce crime and enhance public safety.

Return the completed form by email to Coquitlam_Volunteer_Recruitment@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
(Reminder: An actual-size, colour scan or photo of your valid photo government ID must be included.)

Auxiliary Program

Coquitlam RCMP is excited to welcome applications to the BC Auxiliary Program, which provides trained volunteers with the opportunity to perform a variety of authorized activities that enhance community policing and crime prevention initiatives.

Block Watch

The Block Watch program is all about building safe communities one neighbourhood at a time. Participants watch out for each others' homes, share information and set up systems to help them report suspicious and criminal activity to each other and to police.

Citizens' Crime Watch

Citizens' Crime Watch is a group of dedicated individuals who serve as extra eyes and ears for the police in the community.

Community Police Station

The Community Police Office (CPO) program is a partnership between the Coquitlam RCMP and the cities of Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam that strengthens the relationship between police and the citizens they serve.

Tri-Cities Speed Watch

Tri-Cities Speed Watch is a partnership between Coquitlam RCMP, ICBC and our communities that aims to reduce the incidence of speeding and speed-related collisions by making drivers more aware of their driving habits in real-time.
