Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering is a chance to give back to the community, feel like part of a solution, have fun, gain work experience, support a cause you feel strongly about, gain new skills and knowledge and feel needed.
The District of Mission's Police and Safety services include Auxiliary Policing, Crime Prevention programs, and Victim Assistance services. While these programs are RCMP initiatives, their survival depends on the help of volunteers.
Mission Auxiliary Constable Program
The purpose of the program is to strengthen community and police partnerships by providing an opportunity for citizen volunteers to perform authorized activities in support of strategies to address causes or reduce the fear of crime and disorder. The Mission Auxiliary Constable Program is comprised of twenty-two volunteers that accompany regular members on patrol and perform other police functions under both general and direct supervision, such as office duties, special events, property checks, and traffic and crowd control. Additionally, they often assist regular members during peacetime emergencies and searches for lost persons.
