The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) have now identified the victim in a recent Mission homicide in hopes of advancing its investigation.

Background:

On July 13, 2023, at 5:52 p.m., the Mission RCMP were called to the area of the 32500-block of Lougheed Highway. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 42-year old man, suffering from a stab wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where sadly, he succumbed to his injuries. Multiple witnesses identified a 37-year old suspect who was taken into custody. IHIT took conduct of the investigation and continues to work closely in partnership with the Mission RCMP, the BC Coroners Service and the RCMP Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS).

At this time, no charges have been laid, though the suspect who was arrested on July 13, 2023, remains in custody.

Investigators are now identifying the victim as 42-year old Jesse Kennedy from Mission in hopes of advancing their investigation.
