Charges have been laid against a 31-year old in relation to the murder of Arthur Comeau of Maple Ridge, B.C.
Background:
On April 28, 2022, the Ridge Meadows RCMP responded to a report of multiple shots fired in the 12300-block of Carlton Street, Maple Ridge. Upon arrival, front line police officers located 41-year old Arthur Comeau of Maple Ridge, suffering from multiple gun shot wounds. Despite life saving efforts, Comeau was pronounced deceased on scene. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took conduct of the investigation and worked closely in partnership with the Ridge Meadows RCMP, the BC Coroners Service and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS).
As a result of a dedicated investigation by IHIT, 31-year old Justin Wareing of Maple Ridge was identified as a suspect in the homicide.
On June 8, 2023, a charge of second-degree murder was laid against Wareing in relation to the death of Arthur Comeau.
We’re thankful for the support we receive everyday from all of the Integrated Teams,
says Sergeant Timothy Pierotti of IHIT. This charge is a testament to the dedication and team work between the Ridge Meadows RCMP, IHIT and all of the other I-Teams."
