The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is requesting public assistance to further its ongoing investigation into the homicide of Randy Chan.

On July 24, 2020, Randy Chan was reported missing having been last seen on July 22. A missing persons investigation was initiated by the Coquitlam RCMP. Following discovery of a burned out vehicle by the Burnaby RCMP, it was determined that Randy Chan was victim of a homicide. IHIT assumed conduct of the investigation.

IHIT investigators continue to follow up on numerous investigative avenues, believe that the incident was targeted, and are still working to identify those responsible.

There are people out there with information. IHIT is appealing to those people, including friends and close associates of Mr. Chan, to contact IHIT and come forward. As the one-year anniversary of Mr. Chan’s murder passes, his family and friends describe him as a loving, generous son, brother and family member. They are appealing for assistance from the public for information that may help solve this murder.

This young man’s life was taken from those who loved him, says Sergeant David Lee of IHIT, we can never forget that these incidents affect so many lives. Its never too late to do the right thing.
