One person in custody following an assault

On Monday, December 9, 2024 shortly after 8:30 pm, Fort St John RCMP were called to 259 Road for a report of a work place injury. It was reported that an adult man was injured after falling on a metal grate.
When EHS arrived, they noted that the injuries were consistent with stab wounds and immediately notified the police.
An investigation identified a suspect who was arrested for aggravated assault. The victim was taken to hospital who was reported to be in stable condition. Both individuals are known to each other through work.
The suspect remains in custody as the investigation continues. There are no further details available at this time. More information may be released as it becomes available.
