One man has been charged following a stabbing incident at a Port Alberni apartment in October 2023 that left another man dead.

Port Alberni RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing at an apartment building in the 5100-block of Argyle Street in the afternoon of October 20, 2023. Investigators determined that an altercation took place between two men known to each other, resulting in one man stabbing the other. The victim was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The suspect fled the scene and police has since been actively seeking his arrest. In the morning of November 13, 2023, a Port Alberni frontline officer conducting patrols of a high crime area in Port Alberni arrested the suspect, local resident 30-year-old Dylan Hamilton-George. He has been charged with Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose and has been remanded into custody until his next court appearance on November 15, 2023.
