Cst. Brett Urano wit his bike by the lake

I am proud to announce that Cst. Brett Urano will be representing the Creston RCMP for the 2023 Cops for Kids Charity ride throughout Southeastern British Columbia. This is an extraordinary commitment from our Officers that ride in the event, the result of which directly and positively impacts hundreds of children in our region. I am so proud to have a Cst. Urano taking part and am very grateful for the support our Valley has shown him. stated Detachment Commander S/Sgt. Brandon Buliziuk.

Cst. Urano will be participating in the ride for second year in a row. He will embark on a 1000 km ride with 31 other riders from September 8-17, 2023. The riders all must raise a minimum of $2,500. Cst. Urano has set himself a higher bar and has a goal to raise $9,500 this year.

In 2022, Cops for Kids assisted more than 328 children in the Southeast who required medical treatment outside their home community, specialized therapies, medical equipment, learning tools, and mobility aids. The need is continuing to grow, and so officers are working even harder to be there when families need help the most.

Cst. Urano states, The ride last year was a grueling trek, but it was one of the most rewarding things I have done in my policing career. By donating to this cause, you are helping children in our community and that is why I ride – to bring joy and support to kids who need our help.

If you would like to donate to Cst. Urano’s efforts you can stop by the Creston RCMP Detachment to drop off a donation or donate online.
