Original release;

Members of the Salt Spring RCMP along with Vancouver Island GIS have completed the investigation that culminated in the execution of a search warrant on a residence on August 23 2022.

The increased presence of RCMP officers and their equipment in the community was noted by many residents, and the Salt Spring RCMP want to thank the public for their patience while this investigation took place.

The investigation has now concluded, and police determined there was no criminality with respect to the property or its owner said Sergeant Chris Manseau, Acting Senior Media Relations Officer for the BC RCMP The investigators have provided an update to those directly impacted and the file will be concluded without any charges being recommended

Due to nature of the initial information received, appropriate actions were taken ensure the safety of the community, and the police officers on scene. This included the use of specialized vehicles and the RCMP helicopter.
