The Lake Cowichan RCMP have received numerous complaints in the past few months regarding golf carts being driven unlawfully on public roads and highways. These reports are being received from communities around the Cowichan Lake area.

Travelling in vehicles not built for the roadways, and not capable of the posted speeds, not only puts the driver and passengers in the golf cart at risk, but everyone else on the roadway too, states Constable David Prak of the Lake Cowichan RCMP.

The Lake Cowichan RCMP would like to remind everyone that any unlicensed vehicle, such as a golf cart, that is found to be driving on the roadway could face significant fines.

Lets keep the roads safe for everyone this summer.
