In line with National Police Week's 2022 theme Connected to Our Communities, today the Prince Rupert RCMP would like to introduce Sgt. Gerald Walker, the new officer in charge for the detachment.

Sgt. Walker, his wife Cpl. Angela Spicer and their 11-year-old twin daughters recently made Prince Rupert their new home, after spending over 5 years in Lake Louise, Alberta. Sgt. Walker is no stranger to northern BC, having started his career with the RCMP back in 2001 in Prince George. Sgt. Walker also had roots to Prince Rupert from his mother having been born and raised here.

21 years of service later, after also having worked in the Yukon and Nunavut, Sgt. Walker brings a lot of experience with him in general duty functions, general investigation sections, major crime units, indigenous policing services and detachment management.

"After visiting family here while growing up, Prince Rupert has always been a place we wanted to call home. My family and I are excited to experience the community and opportunities it presents. I look forward to meeting with our partners and stakeholders, and working with my colleagues to provide the service this City deserves." said Sgt. Gerald Walker.

The Prince Rupert RCMP are happy to welcome him and his family to the team, and to the community. Please join us in making them feel welcome!
