On April 21, 2022 at 4:07 PM, a man entered the CIBC located on the 7300 block of 2nd St. in Grand Forks, BC and made off with a large sum of cash. The suspect wore a hoodie and had his face covered, approached a teller and made a threat that he had a gun and demanded the money. The suspect was handed some cash and then fled from the scene, heading south on 2nd Street.

In the days following, investigators from the Grand Forks RCMP worked tirelessly on this crime gathering evidence and speaking with witnesses. Grand Forks Mounties worked with officers from the Creston RCMP Detachment and were able to quickly advance this investigation and identify a suspect.

On April 30, 2022, Creston officers, engaged in their own investigation, located the suspect and took him into custody without incident. The suspect is being identified as Briaden Rosch, a 35-year-old man from the Creston area.

Currently, Rosch is in custody and is awaiting a court appearance later this date. In connection to the Grand Forks crime, Rosch has been charged with one count of robbery and one count of theft of motor vehicle. For the matters in Creston, Rosch has been charged with 8 different counts including: one count of possession of weapon dangerous to the public peace; two counts of possession of stolen property under $5000, and five counts of various firearm offences including carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a non-restricted firearm, and possession of a non restricted firearm while occupying a vehicle.

It is a great relief to have this person in custody and off the streets, says Grand Forks RCMP Detachment Commander Sergeant Darryl Peppler. My officers and the Creston officers worked extremely hard on this investigation and its great to get the results we did.
