Check well-being
On December 30 at 1am a female complaint from out of town reported that her daughter lived in Lillooet and was hearing things in her house and was scared. The daughter contacted police and stated she was just hearing things in her sleep. Police attended the residence and confirmed the female was safe.
Collision
On December 31 a male driver reported he was driving on Hwy 99 near Gott Creek, hit a patch of ice, lost control of his vehicle, hit a ditch and flipped his vehicle. The male driver was not injured and there were no other occupants. The vehicle was towed off scene, and the matter was referred to ICBC.
Cause Disturbance
On December 31 at 1:30pm a complainant reported a 37 year old male was crying, and yelling near 5th Ave and Main St. Police located the male, who was intoxicated, and arrested him for causing a disturbance and being intoxicated in public. The male resisted arrest, however attending members were able to handcuff the male without any injuries. The male was held in cells over night and released the next morning when sober.
Intoxicated in public
On December 31 at 4pm a male complainant reported an intoxicated 52 year old male in the 300 block of Main St. Lillooet RCMP attended and located the heavily intoxicated male attempting to sleep in front of a store in -20 degree weather. The male was unable to provide police with anywhere to transport him to safely sober up. The male was arrested for being intoxicated in public, and held in cells over night. The male was release the next morning when sober.
Roadcheck
On December 31 at 8pm Lillooet RCMP and Stl’atl’imx Police conducted a roadcheck for driver sobriety on Hwy 99. Approximately 30 vehicles were checked, no signs of impaired drivers detected. One road side breath demand was given but the driver blew .00. One driver was found to have a suspended license. His vehicle was impounded for a mandatory minimum 7 days. He was charged with driving while suspended under the Motor Vehicle Act, served a future court date and released on scene.
Collision
On January 2 a female reported that a vehicle had struck a building near the corner of 6th Ave and Main St. Lillooet RCMP attended and found a Nissan Quest that had struck an awning support pole and damaged some concrete in the 600 block of Main St. The driver stated he was coming down 6th Ave, began sliding as he came around the corner, and then swerved to avoid hitting a vehicle stopped a the stop sign, but struck the building. The male driver and passenger were both uninjured. The vehicle appeared to be a write off due to severe mechanical damage. The vehicle was towed off scene and the matter was referred to ICBC.
