Fall comes to close, and we head into what looks like a snowy winter.

For the period of September 22 to December 20, 2021 Lillooet RCMP officers attended 585 calls for service, compared to 489 calls during the same period in 2020, and 418 calls in 2019. The increased file count for 2021 was partially attributed to absorbing Lytton’s jurisdictional area after the fire on June 30, 2021 that destroyed much of the community. Here is a link to our summer 2021 statistics.

Property crime remains a priority for Lillooet RCMP, who are of the belief there is a very small number of individuals responsible for the thefts occurring in Lillooet. RCMP continue to focus their efforts on those individuals. For the period November 24 to December 20, 2021 there was only one reported theft, and zero break and enters in Lillooet. That includes all types of theft (theft under $5000, theft over $5000, theft from motor vehicle, and theft of bicycle).

Lillooet RCMP encourage residents to have a 9pm routine despite the recent drop in thefts. This should include removing all valuables including keys and garage door openers from vehicles, locking vehicle doors, locking up outdoor buildings and primary residence, and turning on exterior lights and alarm systems.
