RCMP Corporal (Cpl.) Greg Jodoin is combining his passion for cycling with his heart to help those battle cancer.
In June, Cpl. Greg Jodoin, a collision reconstructionist with the BC RCMP Highway Patrol posted in Fort St John, BC, partnered with the Great Cycle Challenge to raise money for kids cancer by riding his bicycle 1 km for every dollar raised, with a goal of raising $1000.
"Most people know someone or is related to someone who fought or has cancer", said Cpl. Jodoin. "I'm motivated by the fact that I have close family members that are fighting cancer and want to do what I can in the fight against cancer."
Since June, Cpl. Jodoin has been preparing by riding between 150 and 250 km each week. He has been using an indoor smart trainer and outdoor riding to reach his goals.
In efforts to reach his 1000km goal during August, Cpl Jodoin has created a tight schedule of cycling 4 out of 5 days. If you see him out riding his bike, give him room on the road and wave as you go by.
Since starting his campaign to fundraise, Cpl. Jodoin has surpassed his goal of $1000 and is continuing to push to raise as much money as possible. "The community support has been fantastic!", said Cpl. Jodoin, "I hope I can raise even more since it is such a great cause."
