On March 23, 2021 at 5:30 a.m., Salmon Arm RCMP received were called after a jogger located a piece of green twine stretched across 24 Street NE from one side of the 500-block to the other.

The twine had been attached to a sign post and was at a height that would have struck a cyclist or vehicle at head or
chest height.

Police have a file on the incident and are seeking the public's assistance on identifying the culprit that may be
involved in this dangerous activity.

Erecting something like this is dangerous to pedestrians, cyclists, and members of the motoring public. It is illegal and would likely result in injuries to people using the roadway or sidewalks for that matter, said S/Sgt. Scott West.

If you have information on who may be responsible for this dangerous act please call the local RCMP detachment at 250-832-6044 or call Crime Stoppers and leave an anonymous tip at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
