Last week was a busy one for the Lower Mainland District Integrated Teams (LMD I-Teams). IHIT had one deployment and the other four units provided service in a number of communities.
The teams provide specialized policing services to all 27 Lower Mainland municipalities policed by the RCMP as well as our six municipal partners in Abbotsford, West Vancouver, Port Moody, New Westminster, Delta and Surrey. Each unit is made up of highly-specialized, experienced RCMP and municipal police officers with extensive training.
These units are prepared 24/7, 365 days a year to respond to dynamic events and conduct complex investigations throughout the LMD.
IERT deployments on March 4
On March 4, 2025, the Lower Mainland District Integrated Emergency Response Team (IERT) deployed to three separate incidents in Langley and conducted a search warrant in another jurisdiction along with additional duties across the Lower Mainland.
The team attended and resolved simultaneous critical incidents with the LMD Integrated Police Dog Service (IPDS) who also deployed with IERT. In all three incidents in Langley, the person was taken into custody safely and the situation was resolved. All investigations remain ongoing.
The training for members of LMD IERT is extensive and prepares them to respond to a number of dynamic, high-risk situations. Their deployment often includes a Crisis Negotiation Team, varying number of police officers, equipment and vehicles such as the Tactical Armoured Vehicle (TAV). This response is to ensure they have the right tool for the job and to keep all involved safe.
Chilliwack RCMP make an arrest following coordinated response – UFVRD RCMP File #2025-8470
On March 4, 2025, Chilliwack RCMP observed a man driving who was wanted on a number of warrants and was prohibited from driving Canada-wide. In order to ensure the safety of the man and the members, Chilliwack RCMP frontline and LMD IPDS engaged in a coordinated response. Frontline officers deployed a spike belt to stop the vehicle and the driver allegedly continued driving, despite the state of his vehicle. Once the vehicle came to a stop, the man was arrested.
The response from our members and IPDS to a dangerous offender in our community is a testament to the importance of collaboration between frontline and specialized policing services, says Inspector Jeff Bowerman, acting Officer-in-Charge of UFVRD RCMP.We take public safety very seriously here in Chilliwack and always appreciate the support from LMD IPDS.

Langley RCMP continue to investigate deadly explosion – Langley RCMP File #2025-6044
On February 28, 2025 at approximately 10:40 am, Langley RCMP received a report of an explosion at a residence located in the 7300 block of 196 Street.
