Chilliwack RCMP is investigating a fatal motor vehicle incident that has resulted in the death of a pedestrian

At 2:42 p.m., February 18, 2025, Chilliwack RCMP frontline officers responded to reports that a pedestrian had been struck in the intersection of Vedder Road and Promontory Road. The incident has resulted in the death of an adult male pedestrian.

The intersection has been shut down in all directions.

The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) will be attending to assist with the investigation. Investigators have identified the vehicle and the driver is cooperating.

We are working to determine the circumstances of this incident, which has tragically claimed a life. The intersection will be closed for quite some time, most likely into the evening hours, said S/Sgt. Layne Penner with the Chilliwack RCMP. Please plan an alternate route and avoid the area.

Police have no further information to provide as the investigation is ongoing.
