RCMP seek information on a pedestrian hit and run

On September 21, 2024, at 5:38pm, a frontline Fort St John RCMP officer was conducting proactive patrols on 93 Avenue when members of the public flagged them down for a person on a scooter struck by a truck near the intersection of 93 Avenue and 100 Street, Fort St John, BC.

The frontline officer observed an adult female on the sidewalk and was informed that a red pickup truck had struck the woman before driving off, eastbound on 93 Avenue.

The vehicle was described as a red truck, last observed turning right onto 93 Avenue, from the Safeway Liquor parking lot.

The officer was in the right place at the right time to assist the public and get the victim medical attention, said Constable Chad Neustaeter, Media Relations Officer for the Fort St John RCMP. We are asking the public for any information they might have and for the driver to turn themselves in and speak to police about what happened.

The victim was transported to hospital by the BC Ambulance Service.
