Two vehicle collision

August 1, 2024, Outer Gulf Island police, along with Pender Island Fire rescue and BC ambulance attended a reported two vehicle collision at the intersection of Pirates Road and Schooner Way. Initial information provided to police was that the driver of one of the vehicles was pregnant.
As first responders arrived on scene the occupants of both vehicles were assessed by paramedics. Both drivers were treated for minor injuries by paramedics at the scene. As a precaution the pregnant driver was transported to an area hospital for observation.
The attending police officer learnt one of the vehicles was traveling north on Schooner Way approaching the intersection of Pirates Rd. The second vehicle traveling south on Schooner Way had made an unsafe left turn on to Pirates Rd. The north bound driver attempted to avoid colliding with the other vehicle but was unable to avoid the collision.
Police are reminding drivers to pay attention to what your doing while out on the roads.
