Statement from BC Conservation Officer Connor Bain:

Due to recent wolf sightings in Lillooet, the COS (BC Conservation Officer Service) is encouraging the public to keep all pets and livestock secured when possible. Wolves are territorial animals and have a very large habitat range, it is common to see/hear wolves in rural areas. The main natural food source for wolves are large ungulates such as deer and moose. Please do not approach and feed any wolves or other wildlife and report any urban sightings to the Report a Poacher and Polluter hotline 1-877-952-7277.
