2023-2003 – Theft from vehicle

Police investigated a report of theft of tools from an unlocked car that happened sometime overnight of April 28, 2023. The car was parked in an underground lot in the 4200 block Gateway Dr., and had Hitachi and Milwaukee tools including drills, impact drivers, charging cables, and batter packs with a total value of $2,700. This file remains under investigation.

2023-1997 – Fail to stop for police

On April 28, 2023, during the evening, members were on foot patrol in the day lots when they suspected a driver to be impaired. Members asked the driver to pull over but the driver instead took off. Police found the driver and he was passed out in his driver’s seat. The driver woke up, refused to provide a breath sample, and did not have a valid drivers licence. Members issued a 90-day driving prohibition and had his car impounded for 30 days, and compelled him to court at a future date for drive while prohibited and obstruction.

2023-2000 – Bike theft

On April 27, 2023, sometime in the evening, police received a report of mountain bike theft from the 4300 Blackcomb Way area. The bike is a 2018 GT Fury Garbo edition with a light blue frame, it was secured inside a staff locker. Video surveillance captured the thief who is described as male, 25-35 years old about 5’6 (167 cm) tall, 150 pounds (68 kg), with tattoos on his hands and wearing a red sweater.  The thief is believed to have left Whistler with the bike by commercial bus the next morning at about 7:00 a.m.

2023-1949 et al – Impaired driving enforcement

This week’s impaired driving enforcement included the following, with two of the drivers being local residents of Whistler:
