On April 12 at 9pm a woman reported her 53-year-old and 62-year-old brothers were intoxicated and arguing at their house. Police attended and found one of the man asleep on the couch, while the other man was finishing his dinner then also went to sleep.

On April 14 at 3:30pm a man reported a man down in the washroom of a local restaurant. Police attended and located an intoxicated 53-year-old man who sat up and was responsive to police questions. The man complained about chest pain and was transported by EHS to a local hospital for further examination.

On April 20 at 9:30pm a woman reported hearing someone near her abandoned truck parked on private property, police were familiar with the truck and property. Police attended and could see movement within the truck, then instructed the couple inside to exit. A man and woman known the police and the complainant exited the truck. The man was doing up his pants and explained he was there for some alone time with his girlfriend. The complainant stated she preferred to speak to the couple herself as she felt safe and was familiar with them. She did not wish to pursue any charges.

Liquor Act

On April 16 at 10am Lillooet RCMP observed two men in the 600 block of Main St sitting on a bench with open alcohol. Police attended and directed the men to pour out the remaining open alcohol. The men were able to care for themselves and left the area.

On April 16 at 10:30am Lillooet RCMP made proactive patrols at Downton Park. One man was observed to be drinking what was believed to be a bottle of Corona. Further inspection showed the beverage to be a non-alcoholic Sun Brew drink. No open alcohol observed in the park at that time.

On April 20 at 1pm a complainant reported people drinking near the district building on Main St. Police attended and located a couple with an open 2L bottle of Smirnoff Ice. The bottle was dumped out of the couple were asked to move along.

On April 20 at 4pm Lillooet RCMP made proactive patrols at the Miyazaki house and observed 4 people with open alcohol. All open alcohol was poured out. One male was initially uncooperative with police and reminded of the multiple offences he was committing and potential charges. After further discussions all parties were respectful and allowed to remain at the location if not consuming alcohol.

On April 20 at 4:20pm a woman reported people drinking at the Miyazaki house. Lillooet RCMP attended, poured out all open alcohol and directed all 6 people to leave the Miyazaki house property. All parties broke off into groups of two and went separate directions.

On April 22 at 3pm a complainant reported two men drinking alcohol outside at the Old Mill Plaza. Lillooet RCMP attended locating a 53-year-old man and his 62-year-old brother. Police poured out all open alcohol, despite the men denying ownership. Both were respectful and appeared sober otherwise.

Theft

On April 16 at 12pm a woman reported someone had stolen two pairs of bolt cutters from her carport. The bolt cutters were described as one small and one large, and one being orange, the other pair black in colour. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Lillooet RCMP, please reference Lillooet RCMP file 2023-726.

Road check

On April 16 at 4pm Lillooet RCMP and Stl’atl’imx Police conducted a road check on Hwy 99 and Fountain Valley Rd. Approximately 40 vehicles were checked for valid licences, insurance and driver fitness. One violation ticket was issued.

On April 24 at 7pm Lillooet RCMP and Stl’atl’imx Police conducted a road check on Hwy 99 and Fountain Valley Rd. Approximately 30 vehicles were checked for valid licences, insurance and driver fitness. Two violation tickets were issued, while one unlicensed driver had their car impounded for 7 days. No impaired drivers observed.
