Search warrant yields drugs, ammunition and cash

On Monday, April 24, 2023, the New Hazelton RCMP, Houston RCMP with the assistance of the Emergency response team (ERT)

During the investigation, evidence consistent with drug trafficking offences was obtained and a search warrant was obtained.

New Hazelton RCMP had ERT assist during the search. Three individuals were arrested in connection with this investigation. All three, two adult men and one adult woman were later released pending further investigation. Charges in connection with drug trafficking could result.

During the search police seized approximately 20 grams of suspected mixed illicit drugs, crystal meth, and cocaine, ammunition, drug paraphernalia, a money counting machine, multiple cellphones, documents related to drug trafficking, and cash.

The investigation remains active. More information may be released as it becomes available.
