Threat at local elementary school in Fort St. James deemed unfounded

A threat received by a local elementary school earlier today and drew heavy police presence, has been deemed unfounded.
Fort St. James RCMP was called to David Hoy Elementary at 9:30 a.m. on April 4, 2023 after receiving a serious and specific threat directed to the school. An evacuation of the school was completed and police conducted a thorough search.
Investigators have now determined that there was not a legitimate threat and the school has been deemed safe for teachers and students to return.
