Fort St John RCMP seize suspected illicit drugs during proactive traffic stop

On March 19, 2023 at just after 2pm, Fort St John RCMP frontline police officers on proactive patrol conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle and four occupants in the parking lot of a local hotel.

Through the investigation, all parties were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking and 51.5 grams of suspected cocaine and crack cocaine was seized.

This demonstrates the Fort St John RCMP’s commitment to dealing with drugs and trying to keep our community safe, said inspector Anthony Hanson, Fort St John RCMP Detachment Commander. This arrest removes 50 doses of potentially lethal drugs off the streets of Fort St John.

The individuals were released pending lab evaluation results for the suspected illicit drugs.
