Have fun and be safe on New Years Eve, say Sea to Sky RCMP
Whistler, Pemberton, Squamish
2022-12-27 09:54 PST
Sea to Sky RCMP want people to have fun on New Years Eve, and this includes making safe and responsible choices before celebrations start.
Sea to Sky RCMP in Pemberton, Squamish, and Whistler will have dedicated resources for New Years Eve to help keep communities safe. These members will focus their work on things such as:
- Foot patrols in village/downtown areas;
- Having zero tolerance for open liquor, including in taxi’s;
- Road checks for driver sobriety; and
- Liaising with transit staff to ensure transit users are being respectful of services.
Planning safe transportation to and from events, safe consumption, looking after each other, and reporting anything suspicious are a few ideas police have to prevent people becoming targets of crime.
If you’re celebrating, safely look after yourselves and look after others around you,
says Corporal Angela Kermer of Sea to Sky RCMP.
