Highway 99 closure from Alice Lake to Function Junction due to treacherous winter conditions

Highway 99 between Alice Lake and Function Junction is closed due to treacherous driving and weather conditions.

Other areas of Highway 99 are almost impassable due to a combination of bad weather, treacherous road conditions, and a number of collisions including spinouts.

The highway from Alice Lake to Function Junction is closed as driving conditions are treacherous. We strongly recommend people to stay home and not drive any other part of the highway unless absolutely essential, says Corporal Angela Kermer, Sea to Sky RCMP. Even responders have had challenges driving the highway and accessing collision scenes due to highway conditions, weather, and visibility.
