2022-7769 – Suspicious Person

On December 16, 2022, police received multiple reports of a man swinging a crow bar and/or fishing rod at cars near Highway 99 and Loggers Lane. No one or no property was hurt or damaged but the event caused quite a stir for some. Members located a man, known to them, who they thought to be the culprit, but unfortunately did not have enough evidence to arrest him. On December 17, 2022, at about 10:20 p.m., on Highway 99, just north of Lions Bay, a crane truck travelling northbound hit a barrier and went into the southbound lane, losing a ten-ton weight and hitting a southbound car. Fire Rescue, BC Ambulance, and Miller Capilano also responded. The passenger of the car received facial injuries from the car’s airbag deploying, and she was treated and released from hospital.
