2022-6164 – Mischief
On December 12, 2022, police investigated a report of graffiti in the stairwell of a building in the 4200 block of Mountain Square. Unknown persons used spray paint and a marker to write obscene words. Members continue following up with this file.
2022-6148 – Impaired driving road check
On December 11, 2022, members did a road check for impaired drivers, checking 28 cars, resulting in nine instances where drivers needed to provide breath samples into screening devices. From the members observations and breath results, three drivers received three-day driving prohibitions under the Motor Vehicle Act.
2022-6089 – Youth mischief
Over the last week, police have received three reports of youths throwing rocks or snowballs at property. No one has been injured or property damaged, however, the calls use unnecessary police resources as members actively follow up with each report, and the incidents cause inconvenience of each complainant’s time.
2022-6059 – Assault
On December 7, 2022, police received two reports of a man being assaulted at or near a local hotel. The investigation revealed a couple from out of town had been drinking, got into an argument, and the woman assaulted the man. Police worked with all parties – complainants, woman, and man; and are doing long-term follow up to facilitate safety of the couple.
