For week of November 29, 2022 – December 5, 2022

2022-5976 et al – Impaired driving

During regular patrols or through targeted enforcement this past week, police issued six-three day driving prohibitions and three-90 day driving prohibitions for impaired driving. Five of seven drivers were from the Lower Mainland or beyond, while two were local to Whistler. Police share with all drivers that impaired driving is an RCMP provincial priority for safer roads and communities, and strongly encourage drivers to make responsible driving decisions.

2022-5914 et al – Drivers passing school busses and emergency vehicles

During this past week, police responded to four calls involving drivers passing stopped school busses with lights on or fire trucks with lights and sirens on as they were responding to a call. All drivers were from the Sea to Sky area. Police remind drivers that they must move aside for emergency responders, and that drivers must come to a full stop when a bus is stopped and has lights flashing and stop sign displayed if the bus is equipped with these signs.

Police ask anyone with any information regarding the above files to contact the Whistler RCMP at 604-932-3044, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or go to the website www.solvecrime.ca
