2022-7509 – Theft of truck
On December 3, 2022, at about 4:30 a.m., unknown thieves stole a truck from the 1200 block of Commercial Way. The parked truck, a white Ford F250 with BC licence plate RR5364, was stolen from behind a business by a man wearing all black including a face mask and black sweatshirt with white Polo lettering, and he is associated to a black jeep with unknown licence plate. Police continue following up.
2011-7489 et al – Impaired driving road checks
Between December 3-4, 2022, Sea to Sky RCMP Squamish and BC Highway Patrol Squamish did a number of road checks for driver sobriety, checking about 180 cars. As a result, members administered eight breath tests to drivers, of which three of them were issued three day driving prohibitions, and one person was investigated for impaired driving by drug.
2022- 7473 Mischief
On December 2, 2022, at about 5:30 p.m., police received a report of two youths spray painting the Highway 99 and Pemberton overpass on the Mamquam Blind Channel. The person reporting chased away the youth, and police follow up did not lead to identifying the suspects.
2022-7442 Motor vehicle incident
At a local restaurant in the 1800 block of Garibaldi Way, just before 6:00 a.m. on December 1, 2022, a driver accidentally left their car in drive while intending to reverse, and they drove through a glass window, causing it to shatter. The passenger sustained injuries that required medical attention and this person is now recovering, and police continue following up.
