2022-5677 – Theft
Three people, two males and a female, stole a North Face pullover jacket from a store in the 4300 block of Main St. on November 13, 2022, at about 11:00 a.m. These three people were seen at various athletic/outdoor shops the day before and day of the theft. Whistler Blackcomb believes other items may have been stolen and are working with police and local businesses to identify these thieves and to prevent further thefts from happening.
2022-5618 et al – Impaired driving
Over the past week, police investigated eight impaired driving files as a result of proactive enforcement or while on patrol. In five of the eight files, drivers were from out of area. All files happened either late evening or early morning hours. When asked, three drivers initially told police they had not drank any liquor. In six of the investigations, drivers provided breath samples to police, and results were FAIL, meaning drivers should not have been driving due to their level of impairment. Under the Motor Vehicle Act, each driver received a 90 day driving prohibition and had their cars impounded for 30 days.
In the other instances, drivers showed signs of impairment and provided breath samples to police with results of WARN, and police issued drivers three day and 24 hour driving prohibitions respectively.

2022-5594 – Fraud
On November 6, 2022, police received a report of fraud. A complainant received three credit cards and an application for a credit card in the mail, all in their name, and they had not applied for these cards. The respective banks are following up, per bank policy and procedures. While no money was lost or gained by the complainant, police have recommended the complainant continue follow up with their bank and Service Canada in efforts to determine how fraudsters are obtaining their personal information.
