2022-5071 – Noise complaint

On October 2, 2022, at about 7:45 p.m., police received a noise complaint from the 8200 block Valley Dr. Police heard loud music on attendance, as a live band was finishing up playing. Those involved at the residence ensured there would be no further noise complaints, and police didn’t receive any further complaints during the evening.

2022-5074 – Dangerous operation

On October 2, 2022, a concerned citizen reported two motorcycles driving erratically on Highway 99 near Blueberry Dr. Drivers ignored police attempts to do a traffic stop. The member notified Squamish RCMP who were able to stop one of the two drivers who they arrested for various driving offences and released with a future court date. West Vancouver Police stopped and dealt with the second driver.

2022-4981-90 Day immediate roadside prohibition

On September 27, 2022, members were doing a driving sobriety check-stop when a woman drove up to the stop point. The members noticed signs of impairment from the woman, from out of province, who said she drank about 20 minutes prior. The woman provided breath samples which showed she was over the legal limit to drive. Members issued the woman an immediate driving prohibition and impounded her car for thirty days.

2022-4982 – Bylaw and obstruction

On September 27, 2022, a man was riding his bike in the village when police asked him to stop. The man became uncooperative and wouldn’t listen to police direction. When police asked the man for his name, he refused, and a number of his friends began to physically and verbally interject. Members de-escalated the situation, and issued the man by-law tickets for cause nuisance and obstruction, and also a violation ticket for being drunk in public.
