Liquor act

On September 14 at 4pm, Lillooet RCMP conducted a foot patrol of Downton Park. Police observed one woman sitting at a picnic table with an open can of Lucky Lager. The woman was cooperative in pouring out her beer. The woman was not observed to be intoxicated. Lillooet RCMP continue to monitor Downton Park for open liquor and public intoxication.

Assault

On September 15 at 12pm, Lillooet RCMP received a report of an intoxicated woman at the CN train station. While en route police received further information, the woman had assaulted someone at the train station. Police attended, located and arrested the intoxicated woman. The victim of the assault stated they were shoved by the woman causing their eyeglasses to fall and break. The victim was uninjured and not wishing to pursue the matter. The woman was transported to Lillooet cells and held until sober.

Dispute over pay

On September 16 a woman reported her boss was refusing to pay her final paycheque she was owed. RCMP spoke with the business owner who stated the woman had been paid, and that she was no longer employed with them. Police followed up with the woman who stated she had been paid, but it was not the amount it should have been. The woman was advised police do not oversee wage disputes, and the matter could be pursued through civil court.

Theft of vehicle

On September 17, a man reported his 2001 sedan was stolen from his residence. Police spoke with the man who stated he had last seen his vehicle the previous night. Later that morning police were advised by the owner that a friend had reported seeing his stolen vehicle near Powerhouse Rd and Hwy 99. Lillooet RCMP attended with the assistance of Stl’atl’imx Police where a man was located sleeping in the drivers seat of the stolen vehicle. The man was arrested for theft of vehicle and transported to Lillooet cells. The man was subsequently released with a future court date.
