File # 2022-5752

On September 7, 2022 at about 9:50 a.m., police responded to a multiple car accident with injuries that happened at the Mamquam Rd. and Highway 99 intersection. Though in early stages of the investigation, the event appears triggered by a medical condition.

BC Ambulance, Fire Rescue, Miller Capilano, tow trucks, and RCMP tended to three cars that were involved in the accident. Two people sustained undisclosed injuries, and one of the two needed to be air lifted to a lower mainland hospital for treatment.

This accident caused significant disruption in traffic flow, said Corporal Angela Kermer, Sea to Sky RCMP Media Relations Officer. In addition to the first responders working together at the scene, we also had Mountain FM helping out with updates and suggesting driving route alternatives, and drivers being very understanding of the delays.

Police have cleared the scene and traffic flow has returned to normal.
