Update: RCMP investigate after bones found at Paper Mill Dam

On August 25, 2022 the Port Alberni RCMP requested the public stay clear of the Paper Mill Dam at the Somass River, as the Underwater Recovery team investigated after bones were located.
At approximately noon investigators determined that the bones were of animal origin.
The Port Alberni RCMP would like to thank the public for their understanding and cooperation during this investigation.
