2022-5238 - Excessive Speed
On August 19, 2022, BC Highway Patrol Squamish was doing construction zone speed enforcement at Kelvin Grove, and saw a driver doing 115 km/h in the posted 60 km/h zone. Under the Motor Vehicle Act, officers issued the driver a violation ticket for excessive speed, and impounded the vehicle.
2022-5318 – Break, Enter, and Theft
Sometime between July 19 – August 22, 2022, unknown persons broke into a BC Hydro sea-can at Porteau Cove and stole some wires and a solar panel that was on top of the sea-can.
2022-5320/5321 – Catalytic Converter Thefts
Sometime between August 19-22, 2022, police received three reports of catalytic converter thefts. The thefts happened in the 40600 block Highlands, the 41000 block Government Rd., and the 38000 block Loggers Lane. The thefts seem to be happening in the overnight hours, and thieves are taking the stolen property outside the local area to sell.
2022-5325 – Theft from Auto and Fraud
On August 22, 2022 at about 4:00 a.m., thieves stole a wallet and contents from a car parked in the 40400 block of Cheakamus Way, then used bank cards from the wallet to make a number of fraudulent purchases.
