1. 2022-4702/4704 - Theft from Vehicle and Fraud
Sometime between the afternoons of July 30-31, 2022, thieves entered a car parked at the Diamond Head trail lot, and stole a backpack containing items including identification and bank cards. One of the bank cards was later used in Squamish and other lower mainland areas in fraudulent transactions. The owner has since cancelled their cards.

2. 2022-4662 – Collision
On July 30, 2022, a number of cars were racing on Highway 99 when one of the cars went off road into a ditch. No one was hurt from the car accident. Police issued the driver violation tickets under the Motor Vehicle Act for excessive speed and drive without undue care and attention.

3. 2022-4654 – Theft of Tools
Sometime overnight on July 30, 2022, thieves entered a shed in the 6500 block of Squamish Valley Rd. and stole a number of tools valued at about $7,000. Stolen items include a 200 cc Honda water pump, a 196 cc Honda fire pump, a Husqvarna 550 50.1 cc chainsaw, a Husqvarna 572 70.7 cc chainsaw, and a Yamaha EF3000ISE generator.

4. 2022-4659 – Unsafe Boating and No Insurance
On July 30, 2022, police received report of a motor boat doing donuts in a public swim area at Porteau Cove, and the boat driver did not listen to direction to stop or speak with police. Subsequently, the boat driver’s trailer insurance was well expired, and police impounded the trailer and issued the driver a violation ticket under the Motor Vehicle Act for no insurance.
