On July 15 at 2pm, a complainant reported seeing a woman walking on the train tracks near Station Hill and only provided the description as
not in a good way. No other descriptors provided. Police attended but were unable to locate anyone in the area.
Not a good day for a kayak
On July 15 at 2pm, a complainant reported there were two kayakers calling for help out on the lake. It was an exceptionally windy day with whitecaps seen on the lake. Lillooet Rescue and Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) attended with a boat. The kayakers were located on the railway tracks side of the lake and were safety returned to shore by the boat. No injuries to any of the kayakers.
On July 17 at 10am Lillooet RCMP were advised of a Garmin InReach activation near Tyaughton Lake. The device owner was able to communicate through the device that their floatplane had crashed with four occupants, one in serious condition and one in critical condition. Joint Rescue Coordination Centre sent two aircrafts, and one helicopter. A second helicopter was sent by BC Ambulance. Search and Rescue also dispatched two more helicopters to assist in the rescue. The group was located. The person in serious condition was transported to a Vancouver Coastal health hospital, and the person in critical condition was transported to an Interior Health hospital.
On July 20, the Bridge River Band reported one of their fleet vehicles was stolen. The vehicle was described as a white 2007 Ford F550 flatdeck. The keys were left in the vehicle overnight. On July 24, Quesnel RCMP notified Lillooet RCMP the stolen vehicle had been located in their area with a man found inside. The man was arrested and is facing multiple related criminal charges.
On July 26 a pair of binoculars was found near Mountainview Rd. Owner may claim with detailed description within 90 days. Please reference Lillooet RCMP file 2022-1517.
