File # 2022-1595

The search for a missing 26-year-old woman has been suspended; however, the Golden-Field RCMP continues to investigate.

Late in the evening of July 1, the Golden-Field RCMP was made aware of a missing employee at the Beaverfoot Lodge, east of Golden BC.

Evidence at the scene suggests that the woman may have entered the Beaverfoot River, which feeds into the fast-flowing Kicking Horse River.

Following exhaustive search efforts by police, Police Dog Services (PDS) and search and rescue teams the following day, it was determined the search for the woman would be suspended despite her not being located.

Land and air search efforts have been exhausted, states Corporal Mike Wilson of the Golden-Field RCMP, and conditions are far too dangerous for continued water efforts. We will look at these opportunities in the future when water levels recede.

While search efforts have been suspended, the Golden-Field RCMP will continue to investigate until such a time as the woman is located, adds Wilson.

The missing woman’s family has given the RCMP permission to do a News Release in case anyone in the area locates her, however they have requested that her identity remain anonymous.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of this person, please contact the Golden-Field RCMP at 250-344-2221 and cite file 2022-1595.
