West Kelowna RCMP investigating suspicious object

The West Kelowna RCMP is investigating a suspicious object located on Bartley Road this morning.

At 8:27 a.m. on May 26, 2022, the West Kelowna RCMP received a report of a suspicious object located on the shoulder of the road on Bartley Road in West Kelowna. Frontline officers are on scene and the RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit (EDU) is on route to assist with the investigation.

Bartley Road is a long road and the area impacted is near the end of the road that is less populated. Police are turning motorists around in this location and motorists can exit Bartley Road the way they came in.

There are approximately 10-15 homes in the area. Residents have not been evacuated; however, officers have gone door-to-door speaking to residents and asking them to refrain from coming and going until further investigation can be conducted.
