The month of May is motorcycle awareness month. Please read our tips for being motorcycle aware as more motorcyclists hit the road this spring and summer.

Theft
On May 27, a man reported a theft from a fifth wheel trailer parked on his property near Industrial Place. The theft occurred sometime over the previous two weeks. Items stolen included a propane tank, black and yellow toolbox, vacuum, and various tools. Several items were located a short distance away from the property. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Lillooet RCMP, please reference Lillooet RCMP file 2022-1026.

Found property
On May 27, a woman turned in a black Brodi mountain bike to Lillooet RCMP. Owner may claim with detailed description within 90 days. Please reference Lillooet RCMP file 2022-1028.

Suspicious vehicle
On May 28, a man reported that a suspicious black truck was parked in the 1000 block of Main St at 3:00am earlier that day. Police made patrols but nothing was found. Police continue to monitor the area during night.

Collision
On May 28 at 7pm, local hospital staff advised Lillooet RCMP of an elderly woman that had attended the hospital due to a motor vehicle incident that occurred on Road 40. Police attended the hospital and spoke with the woman, who had minor injuries. The woman was unable to provide police any information and appeared confused not due to the crash or intoxication, but some other underlying medical condition. Police located the vehicle on Road 40, near the Seton Portage turn-off, about 10 metres down an embankment. The matter was referred to ICBC.

Utter threats
On May 29, a man reported that he had received threats from a 37 year-old man known to him that lived in Ashcroft. The 37-year-old claimed he would come over with his two big cousins expecting payment for what was a volunteer event in Lillooet the previous weekend. The complainant stated he housed some of the volunteers during the event, including the 37-year-old. It was unclear why the 37-year-old believed he would be paid. Ashcroft RCMP spoke with the 37 year-old man who alleged that the complainant threatened to beat him up. Both parties warned to stay away from each other.

Impaired driving
On May 29 at 4:30pm, Lillooet RCMP received a report of beer cans being thrown from a Dodge pickup truck on Hollywood Crescent. Police located the truck on Moha Rd and observed it driving erratically. A traffic stop was initiated with the truck in the 100 block of Moha Rd, where the truck nearly hit a parked vehicle. The male driver admitted to drinking, and a roadside breathalyzer was administered. The driver blew two FAIL readings. During that interaction with the driver, the passenger of the vehicle exited and became belligerent with police, including clenching his fists and bumping into a female police officer. The passenger was arrested for obstructing a peace officer. The vehicle was impounded for a mandatory 30 days, while the driver was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and his driver’s licence was seized. The matter was referred to RoadSafetyBC.
