Young boy injured after motorcycle collision

On April 8, 2022, at approximately 3:00 p.m. Port Alberni RCMP received a call to assist the BC Ambulance service near 14 Avenue and China Creek Road for a young boy riding a motorcycle had collided with a vehicle.

Officers arrived and found the young boy with injuries to his face and head. Members conducted a thorough investigation, speaking with the other driver, and witnesses. Officers learned the young boy had ridden his motorcycle out of the alleyway without stopping and was struck by a passing vehicle.

The young boy was not wearing a helmet, this collision could have had a tragic outcome. As always, we cannot stress the importance of wearing a helmet while riding a bicycle or motorcycle stated Constable Richard Johns.

The young boy was transported by ambulance to hospital for further treatment. No charges have been forwarded by police.
