Comox Valley RCMP investigate arson in Courtenay

Comox Valley RCMP Major Crime Unit is looking for assistance from the public to locate surveillance footage for an arson that occurred on March 22, 2022.

At approximately 10:24 p.m. Comox Valley RCMP received a report of a suspicious fire on the 2700-block of Piercy Avenue in Courtenay. Frontline officers arrived to find a truck and trailer had sustained damage from the reported fire.

It would be very helpful to investigators if local residents could check their surveillance cameras, said Cst. Monika Terragni, Comox Valley RCMP. We are looking for footage on Piercy Avenue between 17th Street and 26th Street after 9:30 p.m. she added.

Anyone with additional information or camera footage (dashcamera or home camera) is asked to call the Comox Valley RCMP at (250) 338-1321 and refer to file 2022-4044.
