
Homicide charges laid in Lillooet investigation

On the evening of March 15, 2022 Lillooet RCMP were advised of a man down in the 600 block of Main St, Lillooet. See original release
The man was located suffering from serious injuries. He was transported to Lillooet hospital where he later succumbed to those injuries. The victim has been identified as Leeland Alexander, 25, from Lillooet B.C.
Investigators from the 'E' Div Major Crime Unit (MCU) spent several days in Lillooet speaking to witnesses and gathering evidence in this investigation
said Sergeant Chris Manseau, BC RCMP spokesperson Investigators are now announcing that a suspect has been arrested and since been charged
On March 19, 2022, the BC Prosecution Service charged, Justin Ehlert with murder. Ehlert, 35, of Lillooet, has been held in custody pending a future court date.
The Lillooet RCMP and EDiv Major Crime Unit want to thank the work done on this investigation by the Statlimx Tribal Police, who were at the scene of the incident prior to the RCMP’s arrival.
