1. 2022-1304
On February 26, 2022 BCHP (British Columbia Highway Patrol) was conducting speed enforcement via laser. The Member observed a vehicle in the ‘fast lane’ passing other vehicles at 41 km/hr over the posted 80 km/hr. Prior to being pulled over, the laser confirmed the vehicle was travelling 130km/hr. The vehicle was towed, a ticket was issued and the driver was given paperwork. Another party picked up the driver and their passengers.
2. 2022-1343, 2022-1344, and 2022-1347 – Theft from Vehicle
On February 27, 2022 Squamish RCMP received three separate reports of vehicles being broken into on the 38000 block of Chesnut Ave and the 2000 block of Maple Drive in ValleyCliff between the night of February 26 and the early morning of February 27. Police are seeking any information in regards to these files.
3. 2022- 1267 – Impaired
On February 24, 2022 Squamish RCMP were proactively conducting impaired driving enforcement when a Member observed a vehicle driving with signs of impairment. The Member stopped the vehicle and conducted a road side breath test, which the driver blew a fail. The vehicle was impounded for 30 days and the driver’s licence was suspended. The driver was released on paperwork and was picked up by a family member.
