Fraud
On February 17, a woman reported that she had been scammed out of $15000. The 35 year-old woman informed police she received a phone call from Border Services who claimed there was a warrant out for her arrest, and that there was suspicious activity with her social insurance number. The woman was instructed to send over $15000 in cryptocurrency, which she did. Unfortunately, there was no way for police to recover that money. Excessive speed
On February 17 at 12:00pm, Lillooet RCMP stopped an SUV on Hwy 12 travelling 130km/h in an 80km/h zone. The vehicle was impounded for 7 days for excessive speed, and the driver was issued a violation ticket under the motor vehicle act for $369.

Taken tool since returned
On February 17 at 5:00pm, a man reported that someone had come into his yard, took a hatchet, and left a phone number. The complainant added that he called the phone number, and another man answered and returned the hatchet to him. The complainant did not want any further police action.

Fraud
On February 18, a man reported received a phone call from someone claiming to be from Telus. The man provided the caller with his driver’s licence number, date of birth, and postal code. When the caller asked for payment, the complainant caught on and hung up the phone. The complainant was informed to report the incident to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.

Breach of peace
On February 19 at 11:00, a woman reported that her 25 year-old boyfriend was heavily intoxicated and suicidal. Lillooet RCMP attended and located the man outside the residence where he was arrested for being intoxicated in public. A brief struggle ensued between police and the man. The man also attempted to lick the face of one of the officers however he was unsuccessful. The man was transported to Lillooet cells to safely sober up overnight.

Cause disturbance
On February 20 at 8:30pm a woman reported hearing a man yelling near the train tracks on Hwy 99S. Police conducted lengthy patrols and eventually located a man with matching description, who was yelling and crying, on Main St. The man informed police he was upset because his girlfriend did not pick him up after some work he was doing. Police offered the man a ride home, but he preferred to walk.

Theft of trailer
On February 22 at 1:30pm, a man reported that his black 2014 Majestik L270 flat deck trailer was stolen off a property on West Pavilion Rd sometime over the past two months.
